Italy’s Ferretti Group has been named as the world's top producer of yachts over 24m (80ft)
Italy’s Ferretti Group has ranked first in ShowBoats International magazine’s 2011 Global Order Book, making it the top producer of luxury yachts over 24m (80ft) worldwide. In second place is Azimut-Benetti, followed by San Lorenzo, Overmarine-Baglietto-Pisa and Sunseeker.
As of September 1, Ferretti boasts an order portfolio of 76 superyachts with an average length of 32m (104ft), split between the Ferretti Yachts, Pershing, Riva, CRN and Ferretti Custom Line brands. This brings the overall size of the yachts currently produced to a length of 2,401m (7,877ft).
“This result shows once again how the Ferretti Group is a synonym for Italian nautical excellence throughout the world,” says company founder Norberto Ferretti. “Today, clients want absolute quality and exclusive elegance, demands which are best met by our Group’s mega-yachts.”
The 2011 Global Order Book is said to be the most thorough and accurate analysis of the global nautical industry, issued every year by Boat International Media’s Showboats International. Now in its 18th year, the rating lists all of the yachts under construction, measuring 24m (80ft) or over, in each shipyard worldwide as of September 1.
