RIVA 76 PERSEO WINS MOTOR BOAT OF THE YEAR AWARD
Last night, at the prestigious Rosewood Hotel in London, the 2017 Motor Boat Awards celebrated with a gala dinner hosted by Motor Boat & Yachting magazine and sponsor Pantaenius Sail and Motor Yacht Insurance.
With over 250 guests in attendance, the awards were presented to winning boats in the following eight categories: Sportsboats & RIB’s, Sports Cruisers up to 45ft’, Sports Cruisers over 45ft’, Wheelhouse & Cockpit Cruisers, Passagemakers, Custom Yachts, Flybridges up to 55ft’ and Flybridges over 55ft’. All finalist were sea trialled by five highly experienced marine journalists before the winning craft were selected.
Richard Inwards who attended the Awards was pleased to announce that the Italian built ‘Riva 76 Perseo’ won Motor Boat of the Year Award 2017 in the Custom Yachting category. The award was presented by MBY’s Custom Yacht specialist, Alan Harper, who commented: “This is a yacht that combines exquisite detailing with effortless performance and a near perfect blend of cutting edge features and timeless style.”
The ‘Judges’ Special Award’, went to the entire 28,000 RNLI volunteers who deliver a world-class emergency service, for no reward and often at great risk to themselves. Hugo Andreae commented: “The skill, bravery and dedication shown by these volunteers in the most demanding circumstances is truly remarkable.”
